Seven-Digit Valuation: Potsdam-Based Startup Feelbelt Closed First Seed Funding Round

PotsdamWednesday, 19 February 2020 – Feelbelt GmbH, a MediaTech start-up from Potsdam, has officially completed the first round of seed funding, today. This results in a seven-digit valuation of the company; a great success for all parties involved and an important step in the right direction. Lead investors are JJE Invest GmbH, a group of entrepreneurs from Berlin.

“Feelbelt will completely revolutionize the perception of sound and audio signals. We have developed a patented process that makes it possible to fully feel all sound frequencies for the first time. Through haptic feedback, an extremely exciting experience is created for the user in gaming and when listening to music”, says Benjamin Heese, Co-Founder and CEO of Feelbelt. “In addition, in the future the technology will be used for autonomous driving, where it supports intuitive sound perception, for example,” he continues.

Feelbelt’s vision is to create the best gaming and music experience ever. With its product, the start-up opens up a new dimension of sound perception. The wearable can be worn on clothing and fits flexibly to the body. It can be connected to any audio source and then start the new sound experience with headphones via Bluetooth, WLAN or a jack plug. The Feelbelt is designed and produced locally, in Berlin and surroundings, which the team consciously decided on.

“We have come to know the Feelbelt founder team as a very structured working duo and one that stands fully behind its idea. Through the combination of a unique and innovative product and an impressively committed management, we strongly believe in the success of the company”, says Julian Sixtus, investor and managing director of JJE Invest GmbH.

In September 2019, the company presented itself for the first time at the IFA (Europe’s leading exhibition for consumer electronics) in Berlin. Next week, from 23-25 February 2020, Feelbelt will exhibit as one of two German start-ups at the Berlinale (European Film Market) and help shape the future of the film industry.

“We are very proud that our Feelbelt has inspired the masses at the IFA 2019 in Berlin. It was a great confirmation for us and I am sure that soon we will all be unable to imagine a world without it. We are proud and happy that investor groups share this point of view with us. We are very happy to have such a strong partner by our side with JJE Invest”, says Felix Weiß, Co-Founder and COO of Feelbelt.

The market entry in Europe is planned for the beginning of April 2020 with an integrated marketing and Kickstarter campaign. At the same time, the Feelbelt will also be launching in Japan.
